A National Platform
October 1 2016
The
recent television debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump was
reportedly the most heavily watched presidential debate in history. I
heard that over 100 million viewers honed in on the show. They compared
the number of viewers watching to those watching a Super Bowl
Championship.
As
we know, the candidates are very different and it appeared that one was
more prepared than the other. As I watched the program that aired for
approximately 90 minutes, I thought about how wonderful it would have
been for one of them or both of them to leverage the opportunity they
were given on a national platform to say something about our “Lord”. I
know that there seems to be a ban on any mention of Christ at public
gatherings, but when we have a platform with millions of viewers, we
must be bold enough to capitalize on it. Can you imagine how many people
could have been impacted by just the mention of His name? It could have
been the start of a new life for many. One does the planting and
another waters.
Let’s
pray that the candidate that is elected as the next President over the
United States will have a heart towards God and will not be afraid to
mention His name. I believe that our country would prosper tremendously
from that type of leadership.
