How Valuable Are You

As I was studying the Word of God late one night, I was reminded by the text that I was reading of our inestimable value. Genesis 1:26 tells us that we are made in the image of God; in His likeness. This particular Scripture points out that we should value who we are and that we should have high self worth. This should not make us arrogant or cause us to think more highly of ourselves than we ought. However, it should help us to overcome any feelings of inferiority or low self esteem. If God made us in His image, we are valuable.

God’s Word has a way of affirming us and building us up. It restores the confidence that we may have been robbed of in our formative years. Further it gives us dignity, pride and significance. Human worth should never be defined by physical attractiveness, achievements, public acclaim, or possessions. That is the world’s standard of measure. Instead, it comes from being made in God’s image. We should feel positive about ourselves knowing that we are made in His image.

The next time you are tempted by the spirit of low self esteem, remind yourself that you are made in the image of The Almighty Creator. He took His time; had a discussion with the Executive Counsel and then proceeded with deliberation to make you in His image. Therefore you are valuable!!
