A Solid Foundation

February 1 2020

Most of us believe that when we accept Jesus Christ into our hearts as Lord and Savior, our current problems will disappear and there will never be any new problems. When we start to realize that the cares of this world persist, we become discouraged and start to think that being a Christian gives us no real advantage. That is far from the truth. We have to be taught what being a Christian really means. It means that our sins are forgiven, we now have been reconciled to God through Jesus and we can live forever with Him in eternity. What great benefits and it requires no effort on our part except our confession and faith.

Although all of our problems may not be extinguished, our faith in Christ and the grace He gives us, provides the strength we need to handle whatever comes our way. This is as a result of the relationship we have with Christ and the foundation we build as a result of that relationship. So when the rains and the winds come to beat upon our house, we are not moved by what we see or what we hear. The magnitude of the strength of the storms, does not in any way cause us to question the outcome. We remain steadfast and un-moveable because of our solid foundation in Christ. And when the house is firmly affixed to its foundation, it will not collapse, but will stand strong. The solid foundation helps to remove fear and allows us to maintain our peace and focus because our minds are stayed on Him.

Build a solid foundation in Christ. The storms of life will come at some point, but you can rest assured that they will not destroy you. The Lord will be your strength and your protection.
