​It’s Not God’s Fault

Proverbs 19:3 tells us that the foolishness of man undermines his way; then his heart is resentful and rages against the Lord, he blames the Lord instead of himself. (Amp) We do a lot of foolish things and never really stop to think about the consequences. We are so caught up in the moment and the thing we are doing, that sometimes we don’t give careful consideration to how detrimental the results could be to us and to others.

At the time of our decision or action which is not seen as foolishness by us, we are excited over what we are doing. It makes sense to us and thus we go head on with enthusiasm and vigor. A man’s ways seem right to him, but the end is death. If anyone tries to talk us out of our plans, we wonder what is wrong with them. Why can’t they see what we see and join in with us?

However, when things don’t turn out the way we had envisioned them, we get upset. Our anger is then more often than not, directed at God. Our heart is resentful and rages against Him because we say God allowed something bad to happen to me. When in fact it was our foolish actions that ruined our undertaking. It was our poor decision that got us into the trouble we find ourselves facing. Therefore, we can’t blame God.

Adam wanted to blame God for his own action and decision when he ate of the fruit Eve gave to him. He said “the woman thou gave to me”. He never took any responsibility for his disobedience. It was all God’s fault. Sound familiar?

We can blame God all we want, but in the end, it falls squarely on us. We failed to inquire of Him and acknowledge Him in all of our ways so He could direct our path. It wasn’t and never is it ever God’s fault!! He often warns us against actions that will hurt us if we take the time to listen. We have to consider carefully the things we do and apply God’s wisdom to everything we do in life. It will help us live a life full of joy and peace.
